Behavior Support Technician - Adult Day Program

Assignment Format: On-site.
Shift / Hours: 1st Shift - No Nights/Weekends.
Pay Rate: $17 - $21 per hour + benefits.

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults (ages 22+) with disabilities in community-based and day program settings for our client. DSPs provide hands-on support, promote independence, and help ensure a safe, engaging, and respectful environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Support individuals with daily activities, routines, and community outings.
  • Provide 1:1 support when required by program needs.
  • Implement behavior plans and ISP goals using positive, person-centered approaches.
  • Assist with vocational activities, social groups, and skill-building experiences.
  • Use de-escalation techniques and intervene in crises as trained.
  • Assist with meals, hygiene, and toileting as needed.
  • Safely and courteously transport individuals and staff as assigned.
  • Assist individuals with boarding and exiting vehicles and ensure safety restraints are used in accordance with state law.
  • Obey all traffic laws and follow vehicle safety regulations at all times.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate important updates to supervisors and clinical staff.
  • Maintain the safety of individuals, the building, and the community environment.

What We’re Looking For:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in human services is preferred.
  • Ability to follow behavior plans and respond calmly in crises.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working in active, sometimes unpredictable environments.
  • Willingness to participate in community outings and activities.

Physical & Work Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to perform training-compliant physical interventions when required.
  • Ability to work in community settings and potentially volatile environments.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Swimming activities may be required; safety protocols and training provided.

Certifications & Training:
  • Verbal and physical intervention certification.
  • Adult & Child First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
