Assignment Format: On-site.
Shift / Hours: 1st Shift - No Nights/Weekends.
Pay Rate: $17 - $21 per hour + benefits.
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults (ages 22+) with disabilities in community-based and day program settings for our client. DSPs provide hands-on support, promote independence, and help ensure a safe, engaging, and respectful environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Support individuals with daily activities, routines, and community outings.
- Provide 1:1 support when required by program needs.
- Implement behavior plans and ISP goals using positive, person-centered approaches.
- Assist with vocational activities, social groups, and skill-building experiences.
- Use de-escalation techniques and intervene in crises as trained.
- Assist with meals, hygiene, and toileting as needed.
- Safely and courteously transport individuals and staff as assigned.
- Assist individuals with boarding and exiting vehicles and ensure safety restraints are used in accordance with state law.
- Obey all traffic laws and follow vehicle safety regulations at all times.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate important updates to supervisors and clinical staff.
- Maintain the safety of individuals, the building, and the community environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in human services is preferred.
- Ability to follow behavior plans and respond calmly in crises.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in active, sometimes unpredictable environments.
- Willingness to participate in community outings and activities.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform training-compliant physical interventions when required.
- Ability to work in community settings and potentially volatile environments.
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
- Swimming activities may be required; safety protocols and training provided.
Certifications & Training:
- Verbal and physical intervention certification.
- Adult & Child First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
